According to the Chicago-based research firm Mintel Comperemedia, unsolicited mailings from banking, credit card, investment and mortgage loan companies is plummeting. Mintel says that last year, credit card issuers cut their mailings to current customers by nearly one-third (30 percent). So far this year, unsolicited mailings fell 12.7 percent.
